Balance and Vestibular Therapy Program

The Balance and Vestibular Program at Kessler Institute’s Marlton campus provides a comprehensive approach to the assessment and treatment of the sensory, motor and biomechanical factors related to impaired balance, vertigo and other conditions.

Balance and Vestibular Disorders may be caused by any of the following:
  • BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo)
  • Inner Ear Disorder - Meniere's Disease
  • Balance Disorders – Gait Dysfunction
  • Neurologic Disorders – Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease
  • Stroke or Brain Injury
  • Medication Toxicity
  • Trauma
Assessment includes a review of the patient’s history; sensory, range of motion and muscle testing; evaluation of functional status – the ability to perform daily activities; and the examination of postural and skeletal alignment.

Therapy is tailored to individual needs and focuses on:
  • Reducing/eliminating dizziness, as well as any vision issues
  • Improving balance
  • Decreasing the risk of falls
  • Developing compensatory strategies
  • Increasing independence in activities of daily living
  • Improving quality of life
